Shannon Boyce has been a singer her whole life and a singing teacher for over 20 years.  Before having children and finding Waldorf Education and Anthroposophy she was pursuing a career as an opera singer. Her formal education includes a Bachelors of Music from Samford University located in Birmingham Alabama, and a Master's of Music from The Manhattan School of Music in New York City.  She sang with Des Moines Metro Opera, Brevard Music Center, New York City Opera, and De Capo Opera.   While in graduate school her singing teacher would say “You have to get out of the way of yourself.”  Yet, she had no idea what that meant or even how to do it in her early 20s.  And while her teacher tried to help her, it was something she had to figure out for herself.  It was a spiritual and inner process she didn’t yet understand until she met "The School of Uncovering the Voice".  Shannon has now been studying the principles and exercises of "The School of Uncovering the Voice" for over 11 years and was officially certified in 2019 as a teacher of Uncovering the Voice by Christiaan Boele who was the student of Jurgen Schriefer who was the person Werbeck passed the singing school onto after her death.  In 2020, due to the pandemic, when it was realized Christiaan would not be able to return to the USA to continue his foundation courses, Shannon started her own foundation courses online.  She now is running a full-time online singing school called Revealing Your Supple Voice which is deeply based in the principles of Uncovering the Voice.  She lives and breathes singing every day.  Werbeck was 100 years ahead of her time.  Shannon finds in her research that contemporary vocal pedagogy is slowly catching up to what Werbeck brought and in her teaching she strives to also understand contemporary vocal pedagogy and bring it into right relationship with Werbeck’s pedagogy.  She currently has three cohorts of students working through the group foundational courses and offers private instruction to students all over the world as well as locally in her home studio located in Rockland County, New York.  She teaches all ages from 8 years old to 80+ years old.
